Passenger Safety Policy
1Before and during a trip
The rider app shows the captain’s name and vehicle details and the status of the trip, and a trip starts only when the rider gives the captain a 4-digit OTP. Riders should check the captain and vehicle details before boarding. During a ride, a rider can use the SOS button to call 112 or alert RYDO Support with their live location and ride details, can share a link to a live-tracking page for the trip with someone they trust (the link stops working when the trip ends), and can keep emergency contacts in the app, which are stored on the rider’s phone.
2Zero-tolerance conduct
Violence, threats, harassment, unlawful discrimination, reckless driving, intoxicated driving and misuse of personal information are prohibited. Captains must not operate while impaired. Reports of drug or alcohol use on duty are handled under applicable law and the applicable aggregator rules, including any required interim suspension.
3Reporting and escalation
Accidents, threats, harassment, unsafe driving and other serious incidents can be reported through the app’s help and support options or by email to support@rydoind.in. Please include the booking details, the time and a short description, and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information. RYDO treats urgent safety reports as a priority.
4Emergency response
In an emergency, call 112 first for police, fire or ambulance. In-app SOS alerts are recorded by RYDO, but RYDO does not guarantee a response time to an in-app alert, so contacting emergency services directly is always the fastest route. RYDO preserves relevant records lawfully, cooperates with authorities when legally required, shares information only on an appropriate basis and documents the actions it takes.
5Learning and limitations
No platform can guarantee that every trip will be incident-free. RYDO reviews incidents and complaints to improve verification, training and product design. RYDO describes its safety features as they actually work and does not claim a control room, a response time or round-the-clock service unless it exists and is consistently supported.
6Safety feature accuracy and audits
RYDO publishes only safety functions that are available and tested, and explains honestly when a function is unavailable. RYDO periodically tests its safety-reporting channel, escalation contacts and staff training, reviews serious incidents and trends, documents corrective action and updates this policy when a service or safety feature changes.
7Passenger information and trip sharing
Trip details are disclosed only to people who need them for the booked service or to respond to a legitimate safety issue. A live-tracking link shows the trip to whoever the rider sends it to, and stops working when the trip ends. RYDO does not promise that a shared link or notification is monitored by RYDO.
8Special risks and vulnerable users
Reports involving children, vulnerable people, threats or suspected exploitation are handled with particular care and in accordance with applicable law. Urgent risks are escalated to emergency services or a designated safety lead as appropriate. RYDO does not promise special protection measures that are not implemented.
9Review, evidence and fairness
For a safety incident, RYDO records the time, booking reference, report category, steps taken and relevant evidence, with access limited to authorised reviewers. Affected users can submit information or challenge factual errors where appropriate.
